Playing in Group A, the USA began the stop with a perfect 3-0 record on Friday with Zimmerman contributing six points and nine boards. The USA defeated Germany in overtime, 18-16, then got past Austria, 15-14, and edged the Netherlands, 16-14. The 3-0 start advanced the USA directly to the semifinals on Saturday at 4:25 p.m. ET.

The USA is hoping to earn an invitation to the 2021 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Final, which will be played on Sept. 18-19 in Bucharest. The host nation of Romania and the top seven teams in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series season standings will earn an invitation to the event.

Should the USA advance out of Saturday’s semifinal matchup, they will compete in the finals later that evening at 7:25 p.m. ET against either Spain (3-0) or the winner of Saturday’s second quarterfinal matchup.
