Virginia Distillery nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice award – CBS19 News
NELSON COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — Once again, a local distillery has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards for Best Craft Whiskey Distillery.
This is the second year in a row that the Virginia Distillery Company in Nelson County was nominated.
Members of the public can vote for their favorite distillery once each day through Sept. 13.
There are 19 distilleries from across the country on the list, which were selected by a panel of American spirits experts.
Virginia Distillery Company produces a few thousand cases of its products each year, including the flagship American single malt Courage and Convictions, which is aged at least three years.
Other distilleries that are in the running include Belfour Spirits in Dallas, Texas; Blaum Bros. Distilling Co. in Galena, Illinois; Breckenridge Distillery in Breckenridge, Colorado; Chicken Cock Whiskey in Paris, Kentucky; Golden Moon Distillery in Golden, Colorado; Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky; High West Distillery in Park City, Utah; High Wire Distilling in Charleston, South Carolina; Ironroot Republic in Denison, Texas; Limestone Branch in Lebanon, Kentucky; Redwood Empire Whiskey in Graton, California; Sagamore Spirit in Baltimore, Maryland; Sugarlands Distilling Company in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Traverse City Whiskey Co. in Traverse City, Michigan; Treaty Oak Distilling in Dripping Springs, Texas; Westland Distillery in Seattle, Washington; Widow Jane in Brooklyn, New York; Wigle Whiskey Distillery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Wyoming Whiskey in Kirby, Wyoming.
