EUGENE, Ore.– On Sunday, TrackTown USA announced that spectators will be able to watch the 2021 Olympic Trials at Hayward Stadium.
“Oregon health regulations regarding stadium capacity have shifted significantly in the last two weeks,” said Michael Reilly, CEO of TrackTown USA. “We are absolutely thrilled as these changes allow for previously impossible spectator numbers. Alongside our partners, we have developed a plan to maximize attendance while keeping participants and our community safe. We appreciate the hard work of public health officials and government leaders who have made today’s announcement possible.”
There will be both vaccinated and unvaccinated sections in the stadium. Ticket holders must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in order to sit in a vaccinated section.
“We think we can get to around 8,000, maybe a little bit over 8,000 spectators per day at the Olympic Trials,” said Reilly. “We’ll know more in the weeks ahead on exactly how high that number can go but that’s where we’re building our plan right now”
TrackTown USA is finalizing the details to facilitate the ticketing plan. More information will be available in the coming week.
