‘Get vaccinated’: Fox News’ Neil Cavuto tests positive for COVID-19 – USA TODAY

Fox News Channel anchor Neil Cavuto tested positive for COVID-19, which he said was surprising but made him grateful that he was vaccinated.
“While I’m somewhat stunned by this news, doctors tell me I’m lucky as well,” said Cavuto, who wasn’t’ on air for “Your World with Neil Cavuto” Tuesday after learning of his test results following Monday’s episode.
In a statement released by Fox News, Cavuto said his condition “would be a far more dire situation” if he had “not been vaccinated… with all my medical issues.”
“It’s not, because I (got vaccinated) and I’m surviving this because I did,” the journalist said.
Cavuto had open-heart surgery in 2016 and was treated for cancer in the 1980s. In 1997, Cavuto was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, similar to CNN’s John King, who revealed the diagnosis on his “Inside Politics” show Tuesday.
The Fox News anchor said he hopes “anyone and everyone gets that message loud and clear” following his diagnosis: “Get vaccinated, for yourself and everyone around you.”

Several personalities on Fox News Channel – including Cavuto, Bill Hemmer, Dana Perino, Bret Baier, and Greg Gutfeld – have been vaccinated and publicized their status. Rupert Murdoch, the network’s founder, has been jabbed, too.
But promotion of the COVID-19 vaccine differs from the messaging of some popular Fox News colleagues, including Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham.
Carlson and Ingraham have been the most aggressive in questioning vaccinations. He has said “the idea that you could force people to take medicine they don’t want or need” is scandalous.
But Carlson also told viewers in July: “We’re not saying there is no benefit to the vaccine. There may well be profound benefits to the vaccine. Our mind is open and has been from the first day. We never encouraged anyone to take or not to take the vaccine. Obviously, we’re not doctors.”
