Former Hinds County district attorney injured in car crash – Miami Herald
JACKSON, Miss.
A former district attorney in Mississippi’s largest county is hospitalized after he was injured in a car crash.
Robert Shuler Smith was driving in heavy rain Wednesday night in Jackson when another vehicle hit his car, WAPT-TV reported Friday. Smith is in the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
“Robert needs prayers. His family needs prayers, and his family needs privacy, as well,” law partner, Terris Harris, said.
Smith served 12 years as district attorney, then ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2019. Since leaving office, he has been running the Cochran law firm in Jackson.
