De Jesus Named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week – Old Dominion University – Old Dominion University

DALLAS – Conference USA has named Olivia De Jesus its Defensive Player of the Week, the organization announced on Monday. De Jesus enjoyed a record-setting weekend against UAB.

 

In Friday’s first game against the Blazers, the middle blocker tallied 13 blocks in five-set victory. Those 13 blocks represented a program single-match record. Additionally, she helped the Monarchs set a new single-match record with 19 total team blocks. The following day, she added eight more blocks against UAB.

 

Across two games, De Jesus tallied 21 total blocks (2.33 per set). She leads the team, is fourth in the conference and is 62nd nationally with 1.23 blocks per set.

 

The weekly honor is the first in De Jesus’ career.
